A kind of magic happens when mini-lights and plastic cups get made into a sparkleballs. The inventor is unknown, but this simple American folk craft has spread around the world. Nobody owns the rights. Anyone can make one.
I bought my first sparkleball outside Tyler, Texas from a man selling them on the side of the road. From then on, it just wasn’t Christmas at our house if the sparkleball wasn’t up. So it’s not surprising my children are the inspiration behind sparkleball.com and the Make-A-Sparkleball Kit. Like me, Juliet and Gus believe sparkleballs brighten lives. They also believed that their mom could take all her sparkleball DIY experience and create a simple kit so anyone can make their own amazing ball of light. And so, I did. ∼Alex Finlayson
